Little behind on posting Moments of Joy… so much bad stuff going on. But the more the bad stuff, the more necessary are Moments of Joy.

So I was overcome by the perfection of the structure of this leaf. I think all leaves are an expression of ideal vein structure that both supplies and supports the leave cells. 

But few leaves are so perfectly expressed as this birch leaf. The tree is covered with these little beauties. And that’s a lot of math the tree had to work out…
